Do chrome barrels lead?

After hundreds of rounds through my norc m14 I hooked up my outers electronic bore cleaner. Ran it for hours, first with the copper solution and then with the lead solution ( I shoot cast bullets as well). The rod showed no evidence of copper or lead particles. Do chrome barrels tend not to foul as much with copper or lead? My pistols on the other hand were quite fouled.

The chrome is very smooth surface so there is not much of a surface to have lead cling to in your barrel. I have a Nork 1911 with a chrome barrel and I never have to clean it. I do anyways but never much more than a little powder residue comes out of it. I just wish my cs 858 was the chrome barrel but thats what I get for choosing non restricted. Worth it though. But yeah that is normal chrome is great for cleaning and longevity.

The rod is one thing - what was the light saying - green or yellow ?
You have to run a patch with cleaner first and then one with alcohol to make sure the is no grease or lubricant in the bore. Same with the rod - she have to be clean before you use it. If the light is green then the bore is clean !

My Norinco M14 doesn't copper foul much, either. Likewise, my Russian SKS only ever shows any sign of copper fouling around the gas port. The chrome makes for a nice, slick surface that seems to resist metal fouling and cleans up easily.

OK. Busted. I use my homemade electronic bore cleaner so it doesn't have a yellow or green light. I don't recall having cleaned the oil or grease first so that may explain it.
