Do Elk sound like monsters?

How does Rogan describe them...a forest horse with swords sticking out of it's head. Yup, kinda monstrous. But so delicious.

Out of my four favourite nature sounds...lions roaring, elk bugling, turkeys gobbling and geese honking...only the elk has that eerie, almost mystical quality. Nothing like it! Knowing what it sounds like (from recordings or TV or whatever else) is one thing, but actually hearing it in person for the first time is incredible.

Elk talk a lots, some of it high pitched squeals, some of it sounds like a dog barking.
