Do I have to crimp?

You need some crimp, even if it's just to hold the bullet in place. More crimp if firing out of a semi-auto as the cycling of the action can drive the bullet into the brass.

Really comes down to what u are shooting but I dont even crimp for my AR anymore!
Bolt action I would not bother as long as the gun feeds smoothly.
I had a stevens 200 i loaded quite long and ocassionally the bullet would set back when I cycled the action as it hit the edge of the feedramp coming out of the magazine.
Just cycle some rounds to be sure before you start shooting.
Having a bullet set back far enough will ruin your day! Possibly much more as well!
