Do I need a 25-06

I still having problems in my decision between a 25-06 or 6.5-06.

I have a 257 Roberts already so do I really need a 25-06, while on the other hand I have my 280 Remington so do I really need a 6.5-06. Maybe I should just say **** it and get both lol. Yes OK it's more of a want then a need (I think I'm just a "gun junkie" and my habit needs a big fix). Should I split the difference so to speak and get a 25-06AI. I could get one in a bolt action rifle and the other in a Ruger #1. Always wanted a Ruger #1.

Am I the only one with this problem. Is there some kind of support group out there, or am I on my own.
 
With a .257 Roberts and a .280 you don't need anything else to hunt everything in NA. "Want" is another question entirely! You might as well just get a .25-06AI as well as a 6.5-06AI. That should keep you busy for a while ;)

You're asking if you should get 1 more gun, or 2 more, on a site called GUNNUTZ.....

I think you already know the answer

Get both, then add a 6.5x55, 6.5x57, 6.5x57R, 6.5x64 Brenneke, 6.5x65 RWS, 6.5x65R 6.5x68S, 6.5x68R, 6.5-284, 6.5 Rem Mag, and a .264 Win Mag.

That would be a good start.
 
Do you have a nice .223 that slings heavy boolits? Mebbe ya need one of them? 7 twist on a SS Model 700 action???

.223, .257Bob, .280.....don't get any better, unless you also concoct a .338 or 35 of some sorts.... :)
 
Just AI your 257.

The 257 Improved will give you 100 to 300 fps more than the 257 Roberts, depending on bullet weight. Thats nipping on the heels of what the 25-06 Remington offers with the same weight bullets.
