Do I Need Another Hunting Rifle? Advice Please.

As I've been telling my wife for years. It is unethical to hunt different species with the same gun. It is unlucky to hunt the same species with the same gun two years in a row. You should have at least two guns for each species plus a couple spares. You should also factor in the terrain and bush density for each hunting situation. Hunting open country with a lever carbine just isn't right. Lugging a 10+lb rifle in the mountains is just plain foolish.

Only 12 ?

There's an obvious hole in the 338-458 dept. if your'e looking for reasons to buy more guns. 22 CF is also a good idea.

Did I mention 25 cals were a lot of fun ?

You've already got the middle ground covered (maybe too much overlapping with .270, .308 and 30-06 actually).

I'd reccomend something in the .223 range and then either medium magnum (.375 mag of your choice) or 45-70.

I'd for sure skip 7mm rem mag if you already have a .270 and 30-06.

Need?! You don't need to ask if you need another hunting rifle. You want to ask yourself whether you want another hunting rifle.

Of course you need more fireams, what you got is just a good start. Get shopping!!!! I gave up on gun safes years ago and turned a 12X12 room in my basement into a vault, just had to add another 6 ft to it this year. Never too many guns, especially in this volatile economy!!

Doug! You're back! How was Africa? Hope you got a few pics you can share with us. :)

A .243 Tikka would slide in just right for coyotes and light deer rifle. A nice Winchester Trapper in .30-30 and Marlin 336 .35rem for bush shooting.
A Ruger Ranch rifle topped with a 3-9 for nice fast shooting and light carry for coyotes and plinking. An Enfield No.5 for bush Moose hunting. Winchester .356 as your
back up bush heavy gun. Nice Marlin 45-70 for future bear hunting. An SkS for absolute blasting and fun. ; and I could go on and on.

Forgot the Swiss ARMS Green Rifle, because you can!
