Do I really need a glock?

2 of everything for the important ones in your stable. I got 2 48's and 2 19x's. Only one 44 because it's mostly for cheap training and plinking.

Yep. I only shoot my G5 34, but I have a complete 34 and a 17 for spare parts. Plus two full OEM part kits, never mind miscellaneous aftermarket parts. You never know when replacements will dry up, or when the Liberals will decide to ban imports of them. Redundancy is key in going forward with handguns.

I must be missing something - The pistol that is likely to see the highest round count doesn't merit a spare?

You don't necessarily need to rack up a high round count for training. I also haven't shot a .22 pistol before so I'm not sure if it'll bore me or not... .22 rifles definitely bore me. Pretty much got the 44 to practice draws and so that my wife wouldn't feel intimidated by it as I'm trying to get her into shooting as well. I'm not too worried about any of the glocks going down ... but for my main pistols it's peace of mind knowing that the ones I want to rely on for possibly the rest of my life will have an organ donor in the safe.

Necro beastial buddy but who judges eh?

More importantly... how is it that I step out for a haircut and by the time I come back PR sells out x10 48s. Sigh. No Glock-dual-butt-### for me. For now.

Dual glocks for double the penetration. Just don't use the RTF models...

G17 Gen 5 back in stock at Arms East and various other nice goodies, including G34 MOS! AE has been quiet for at least a week but they're BACK!

I never owned a Glock but shot a few ~13 years ago. My cousin in California has Glocks and Sigs. I remembered they're fine in my hands and felt like a toy squirt gun due to its weight. I never thought a handgun could be made out of plastic. I found that quite fascinating. But if I were to choose a Glock or a Sig to be my only handgun, it would be the P226 hands down and that is why, the P226 is my first handgun. As for Glocks, I bought too many in the last 1.5 months, including the G17.

UPDATE: 20 mins later, the 17's are all gone... That was quick. lol

Hard to beleive there isn't a post about their prices yet. Haha

Well found a bunch of Glocks in Calgary.

So painful but dropped 1199.00 on a Gen 4 Glock 19 Canadian. :(

Get this, they will hold it for 2 to 3 months until the transfer goes thru!

So not selling my 228 clone until I have it home.

2 to 3 months if your lucky and from a province with a decent cfo. Ontario is well north of a year if nothing changes. There is kind of a rush going on .... 100k guns sold in the last 60 days

I feel like you need to pick one up to know.

Before I got my Jericho I was trying to decide what I wanted and handled a couple Glocks and immediately found out...that what I wanted wasn't a Glock. Gotta find what works for you.

Straight Shooters in Calgary has lots. I liked the 19, in the end came down to support, accessories, reliability, resale. Now part of the majority as the masses cannot
all be wrong.

Well my glocks arrived. G21 and a g48. The 21's trigger really is terrible and the 48's trigger is just bad. Glad the resale is great. Haha

it s a glock ... they re working nobody said they re a beauty or crsip trigger ...

Ya put 3k rounds though it or dry fire it and they will be much better. Then put 75k rounds though it without an issue. Maybe a main spring every 10k rounds if you want to treat it nicely.

If you want a trigger buy a 1911 or a vintage Smith and Wesson. If you want something to work with any ammo buy a glock.

Also take a look at the Timney alpha. I have them in 4 of my guns and with some work they are a nice trigger.

Glocks are kind of like a volkswagen -- a gun for everyone. Lots of spare parts and upgrades.
I've owned a Glock and didn't like it. Too flippy. I bought a Canik Rival recently and will try it out.
The Rival trigger out of the box is far superior to the Glock's -- unless you get the Glock a trigger job.
The Rival definitely feels expensive and has a nice weight to it. Can't say the same for the Glock.

As Canadians, we don't care as much about duty-gun reliability since these will be range guns.
However, if you are competing, maybe get a proven gun but you'll pay for it.
That being said, I don't think anyone who competes (I don't) is without spare parts for their guns.

To compare Glock to VW is an insult to Glock. VW's are $#!+. LOL

I have fired a number of different Glocks in a couple different calibers, and I had exactly the same two impressions regarding function, from each of them. 1, they are accurate and 2 they are uncomfortable in my hand.
