Hi Everyone,
Rookie question: my cz75 came with a rubber/plastic guide rod and flat spring. I see that there are a few ss options out there. Is it really necessary to switch the plastic rod to the ss one? Does anyone realize any difference after switching ?

No need at all; the CZ-75 is perfect like that.
Jeff Cooper once said :"Good King Wenceslas must have been behind the designer of the CZ-75"

Having put a stainless guide in my TS doesn't make a difference to function. The SS one will probably last longer but that only really counts if you are putting 10's of thousands of rounds down the pipe and even them I am not sure but it does look cool.

It will matter if at the stainless rod you can use different weight springs (if on the original for some reason you can't)

ok cuz they want $25 for this and $24 shipping. but the rubber/ plastic rod feels so weak.
But it doesn't bear any force at all...it just keeps your recoil spring from binding. I've shot thousands and thousands of rounds through a bunch of different Glocks with plastic guide rods with no issues at all. Save your $50 and buy a couple boxes of ammo (or one of those big bottles of booze!) and you'll be further ahead.

I like that. and thank you to all for great ideas.
