Do I shoot to have fun ???

My Glock is great; I put some extra goofy parts on it that I like (mostly for the bling factor :) ), and it shoots very well for me. BUT - I can't shoot production with all that Bling I have on it. So, I am left with shooting in Open Class. Now, I'm laughing at myself for this because the irony is unreal. Most (if not all) Open Class guys are shooting with fancy dancy race guns with C-More sights etc... Then you through me in their with my Glock :D shooting minor. I must say I enjoy my gear and set up. And this should be why I shoot. The other option is remove all my extra stuff and shoot production.

I think this IPSC shooting season will be a funny one for me. If anything else, lets have fun! :dancingbanana:

unless you have optics and/or comp on it,..I would assume you have done something to put you into standard minor (unless your mags and /or holster is ahead of your hip bone.)
 
I have a plastic Mag well on the base of the butt, which works quite nice for myself. I also have glock #3.5 conector, a glock extended mag release, an extra power wolf trigger spring, and a set of trigicons Night Sights. From what little understanding I have, haveing all these extra tid bits on my Glock kicks me out of Standard and Production Div.?

Am I wrong on this? LOL .. wouldn't surprise me if I am wrong.

OH, and Yes I do have my mag pouches forward of my hip bone. This I feel is alot more comforable then reaching to my back for a mag. Wouldn't this automatically place me in Open? Or am I wrong again ? :)

the only thing that kicks you out of production is the magwell.... so take it off.

I have seen you shoot ralph, you better be doing it just for fun :) :) :)

wearing your mag pouches ahead of your hip-bone would put you in Open.
 
Wess buddy, are you shooting IPSC now? What do you mean take off my Magwell...it's awesome. I don't like that void in the Glock Grip, so the magwell works great. I've registered for the match in Brooks May 2nd and 3rd, you should come out and play some IPSC.

Yup, LOL, last year he finnaly got me off my butt and I bought a brand spakin new G17. Had some tweeking done to it and WOW, shooting has become ten times as much fun as ### ... WAIT - did I say that out loud! Damb! :p

So when is the next Hay River invitational?
 
Ralph, if you move your mags and gun behind your hip bones you can shoot Standard Division, minor. or if you really want you can shot Open Division. your call.
 
Nothing wrong with shooting open "just for fun" We recently had a fun/club match and one of the guys shot his Desert Eagle .50 "just for fun". He finished dead last and his times were "interesting", but had a lot of fun doing it, and we had a lot of fun watching it.
 
Ya that was me....my right thumb joint is still a little sore. I shot my 50 AE at the Kamloops 3 gun as well.....came last. I don't care. I have 2 STI Edge's and 10 mags that are now too long for Standard. So I will shoot open. I shoot for fun and I will never win anything. Its all about trying to improve myself, not get on the National team. More lead down range = more fun....of course the bigger the lead the bigger the fun!!!
