Do I want one of these? SFRC Breda/Beretta stripped Garand reciever

I was looking at this as a great project, perhaps 308? but it's going to be I figure around a $1000 to build this. Would prefer to have Beretta parts of Breda parts instead of a mishmash parts gun.

Well, I bought one. For $75 to my house why not?! Found a complete bolt for $75 on ebay and it should be on its way to me too. I will have US parts shipped to the border and pick them up as I make trips over so it won't be too bad finding parts. And if some of these M1's do come into the country, it will make a nice display piece.

At worst, a few years in a US federal 'pound me in the ass' prison.

At best, your parts will be confiscated and you'll be given an armed escort back to Canada, but not before you're charged and barred entry from the US. Hell... I think you can't even fly over it any more with your name on the naughty list.

It still amazes me just how ignorant some people here are about US laws, when so much info is provided around the forum... oh well.

It's not illegal to import them into Canada, not breaking any of my countries laws.
I was nailed on the way out years ago when the US treasury dept started that BS. The Yanks were waiting for me on their side as I approached the boarder. Had no idea about the changes, been doing it for years( all the reloading stuff there is cheaper). I declared it and lost about 400 bucks worth of reloading components. Would've been worse if I said nothing.
