Do new C&B revolvers need to be registered?

Can anyone tell me if the new Cap and Ball revolvers (like the .44 Pietta 1851 that Marstar is selling) need to be registered?

Original C&B revolvers made before 1898 do not need to be registered, all the repos do.

Altough I knew that cap and ball reproductions needed to be registered, I didn't know that Flintlock pistol needed to be. Since flintlock rifles (even new ones) don't need a PAL to acquire not need to be registered, I tought the same would apply on pistols.
