Who can prove what is what after 6mos of usage? Was it too tight of an inlet or a hidden flaw in the wood that they didn't see? or did the cust do something he shouldn't have? Mfgrs gets zero warranty with the wood they buy. Retailer could have helped by calling his mfgr's rep to come take a look at it in the beginning, but, after 6mos, it becomes a policy decision on the part of the mfgr, even then, the retailer could at least try to help with a phone call or two.. Not having read Stoeger's warranty, can't say if there is wording in there to exclude wood, probably shud be, but, with the number of guns they sell in Cda, it shouldn't be any sweat off the dist's back to fix it. And those are Turkish built guns, not like there is any cheap or close by source. Some Chinese mfgrs offer a percentage of sales rebate at year end for warranty, some say price is so cheap, buyer/dist eats warranty.
Mfgrs have policies, distributors have policies, stores have policies, dealt with all of them. Told customers flat out it would not be warranted, was sometimes able to show them documentation on it in the beginning as to why, and later, mfgr's findings, often with pics, but, sent it in for them anyway, chg'd frt, refundable on a succesful claim, if he wanted old stuff back on a rejected claim, we chg'd cust for all the freight.
If you buy a 50-1000.00 fishing rod, have an issue, stores or mfgrs will make cust eat frt to send it in, unless you happen to live close by. Most gun shops in the US make you send it in to dist or mfgr at your expense, suspect most US gun mfgrs are the same.
