Do stock Glock barrels have serial numbers on them?

So I purchased my first Block back in May and immediately sent it out for some custom work. It's long story but after a frustratingly long wait for something that was quoted as 4 weeks turn around I eventually found out the process wasn't even started. I proceeded to ask for my Glock to be sent back to me immediately even if it was in pieces. So part of the service that was suppose to be done was some TiN coating on the factory barrel. When I had asked for my property back they said the barrel was out for coating so I had them send everything back to me but the barrel. I'm trying to remember if a factory Glock barrel has a serial number on it? The reason I ask is that my 17 was returned with the wrong trigger spring (a NY1 spring) which has led me to realize that I got a random trigger assembly, so basically not my original parts. I upgraded the trigger so i wasn't too concerned but with the barrel I am really concerned that I will not get my original barrel back. Now i'm at almost 18 weeks wait for my barrel which is beyond ridiculous:mad:

Is there any way to confirm that if I get a barrel back that it's mine?

What would you do?

I'm going to try to contact them again tomorrow and when i have more time I will write about the whole situation.

On a stock Glock the barrel, slide, and frame all have matching serial numbers.

What's the name of the shop doing this custom work? Quoting 4 weeks and taking 4 times as long seems inappropriate, as is sending you incorrect parts.

+1, what is the name so I can add it to my blacklist?

Thank you I thought that was the case, glad to know I will be able to indemnify my barrel. The place is CDN tactical finishing which is apart of CDN Gunworx. My glock arrived there on the first week of June. Was going to get the whole thing done, stippling, milling of slide, DLC, TiN barrel. After like 3 months maybe I finally said enough and asked for everything back after finding out they didn't do anything but stippling. Thats how I needed up with everything back but the barrel. I have all the dates and messages saved so I think I should make a post that goes over everything that actually transpired. Tomorrow I will try to contact them again.

Thanks everyone for confiming about the serial numbers I was pretty sure that was the case but just wanted to be 100% sure. If anyone knows where I could post my experience once it ends in the forum let me know.

Thanks all,

Jon

That really sucks about getting strung along, I would HIGHLY recommend Black Box Customs in Calgary, while they don`t do some of the coatings they do an amazing job on stippling, milling and Cerakote. Their wait times are a bit long but what you get in the end is an outstanding product. They also sell aftermarket parts that are already TiN, I bought an Agency Arms Premier barrel from them and could not be happier with how it shoots.

Yeah I have seen their custom work, it looks amazing. I actually ordered a Agrncy barrel from them as well. The mid line one and I really like it. I also have the Agency trigger too

Thanks and my next build I will look towards BlackBox. Got the run around again yesterday. Said it will be reasy in a week and was out gettinng coated. I explaimed that the first time they said it was out being coated was 11 weeks ago. Then again on sept 9th they said it was out being coated and would be ten days. They then told me “the gun smith is out of the shop today and well contact you back” Not once have they contacted me back when they said they would. I don’t know whats next I will ask for the money back so I can get a nee barrel? Small claims? I honestly am so frustrated and I’ve never been in a situation like this before

Yeah I will be looking into that. I’m not sure how that will go or if it would cover the price of a new barrel but I think that will be my next action. Thanks

Jon

Egh, CDN-xyz have a pretty poor industry rep - too bad you've had such an unfortunate experience.

Yeah I wish I would have spoke to more people before making that decision. Feels like it’s gone wrong at every possible direction. When I have time I will make a full post with everything it’s frustrating just writing about it. Constantly told over and over that it will be done everyike I enquire. But a quoted 3-4 week turn around now at 18+ weeks speaks for itself.

Yup total disaster. Keep getting told it will get done. Barrel has been there for 20 weeks. I advise all to stay away from this company, I have never dealt with such awful customer service. Never get called back when they say they will. No offer for a solution, I am so pissed.
