I see that the new M305s come with synthetic stocks, so has this caused the market/demand for US GI synthetic stocks to collapse ?

I have an old take-off GI stock and handguard, but a search of the exchange forum does not turn one up recently so I am unsure of value these days.

Any advice appreciated and then it is going in the EE.

If its in good shape, not structurally damaged, it has value. I'd say around $120 around these parts if fair. They are more plentiful in the states, but not able to be legally imported, so looking at values in the US is irrelevant.

The ones in unissued condition sell for up to 300.00
Personally, for good condition, minimal scratches, good to excellent checkering with buttplate and good condition handguard 175.00 to 200.00 is an honest price
If it's pristine, 250.00 to 300.00

I'm launching a new manufacture usgi type replacement stock in a couple weeks. Pics and pricing at that time.

The synthetic stocks on newer M305s are certainly an improvement over the earlier wooden stocks, which makes the decision to replace them more a matter of taste. As described in one of the M14 stickies, the forend of many Norc synthetic stocks tends to be bit too long, which should be trimmed back to avoid contact around the gas system, but that seems like an easy enough fix. The stocks on the M305s are essentially copies of the earlier wooden stocks replete with the same liner around the reciever, whereas the USGI fibreglass does not use the liner. The USGI fibreglass is also slimmer (a bit more attractive looking IMHO) and made of a sturdier material, but needs sections filled in to keep your op rod guide retaining pin from coming loose (again an easy fix).

I got a three USGI fibreglass stock a few years ago in a deal on the EE, and while I'd probably want to repaint the most beaten up one before using it on a rifle, it would still work fine as is. I don't see them too often and really glad I got mine when I did.

I think fabsports was retailing them for a limitted time last year for 159.00 in surplus condition, no handguard, no buttplate.

Average u.s. Price a year ago for the same , about 75.00 to 125.00 usd on ebay and the popular US forum exchanges.
Wanna know what it's worth, cruise the PX on M14forum.com or M14ra.org
