Then surely they are in a locked car making access controlled. I’d argue if you can get into a locked car then you can get into locked gun case or bust a trigger lock. The level of security is similar.
I could see if you left them in your car on your driveway that might be an issue but if you left them in your car while stopped at a motel somewhere between point a and b. Then you could make the argument they were still in transit.
