Do you clean you pistol everytime after your shoot?

Haha, that pretty much describes my cleaning regimen as well. I usually clean it before it starts acting up, though...

I used to clean after each session at first. When I started taking four or five guns with me to the range, however, that soon became impractical. It usually takes me about an hour to clean a gun though, I'm the slow and methodical type.
 
Depends on the gun and what im shootin. The Glock 17 tends to get more use than any other and I rarely give it a detail clean. Just a little oil and clean out the gunk, an dthe barrel of course. My Stainless Redhawk almost after every visit, just cuz the stainless needs to look perfect as a rule, and some lead goes through the barrel quite often. My Rifles I wipe down with an oily rag, and lube up after every trip, but they only see a heavy clean evey 200 rounds or so.(once a month) The shotguns, well prolly once a month, depending on how much they get used.
 
I clean the feed ramp and run a boresnake thru it every 600-800rds. I use break free usually as I find it removes all the crap easily.
 
WD-40, like most other aerosols, uses butane as the propellant. This is why they can be used as power for potato guns.

In my experience, WD-40 dries into a sticky gunk and makes things like triggers even worse than they were before "cleaning". I only use it for drying wet ignition. There are r eal lubicants around that do a much better job - like G96 that cleasn, lubes and smells nice.
 
Who has time??? I usually let any of my rimfires go 1500-2000 before I detail strip them and so long as they're kept lubed there is no issue with them running.

Centerfires get cleaned every 500-100 depending on the type (1911/Browning at about 500 or so and Glocks/M&Ps at closer to 1000 or a bit more). My Glock 23 did it's first 5400 rds without cleaning but that was an exception and since I'd never had a Glock before I wanted to see how it would do. It never stopped running, I just fest guilty about it being so dirty...

Wheelguns, both RF & CF get cleaned a bit more regularly.

Your car seems to shoot allot of explosive gasoline out its ass does it not.Or are you a tree hugger that drives one of those limp wristed duracell powered f@# wagons.
 
I don't buy guns that require cleaning after every range session... every gun I get recieves a complete cleaning and grease-down. After that the only other attention my pistols get is some light oil down the bbl.

I have so many handguns though that each individual handgun does not get a whole heck of alot of useage.
 
i have a 3 liter Lexus, premium gas that makes the needle go down faster than a whore's drawers. Back to my point tho, car recommends oil changes every 7500k, so I do it, firearms recommend cleaning after every use, so I do it. I figure that people building these things know more than me. Plus I like doing it so its not really a chore.

My Glock I wipe down somewhat half-assedly after hitting the range, but my 686 sees about twice as many cleanings as range visits.....
 
I used to clean and oil after every session and a monthly inspection if they weren't being used. Lately, after every range session they get a quick wipe down and a bore snake through the barrel. I only clean (field strip) after 300-500 rounds for centrefire handguns and 800-1000 rounds for .22lr. The round count may be less if I encounter a problem or decide a particular handgun isn't going to be used for a while. YMMV.....
