Things were a little on the quiet side, there are no new photos in the "Girls with Guns" thread, and Otokiak hasn't posted any recent pictures.
Believe it or not, back in the `80's my old department removed firing pins from some Colts and Smiths, painted them bright red, and used them for training purposes.

It would be less hideous. Not pretty, but more like run shreiking into the night ugly, as opposed to "I must gouge out my eyes and run an icepick into the part of my brain that stores this memory" ugly.

I can see how that could work as a defensive weapon - if you ever pulled that thing for real, the bad guy would p*ss himself laughing and not be able to carry on his attack.
edited to add the fine print: I fully realize that carrying a handgun in Canada for defensive uses is not legal, but the aforementioned mutant pistol is offered for sale in a country which actually allows people to defend themselves, this line is aimed at all of those self righteous snivelling winers who have no sense of humour, and who would jump on such lighthearted comments for the sake of sounding "responsible", whatever that is.

Oh, it is. My eyes feel like a leech must feel when you pour salt on them. I'm not talkin a salt shaker, I'm talkin those Winsor cardboard boxes with that silver spout that always makes WAY more come out then you want.Rohann said:

I like it, but the grips need some flourescent green and the cylinder should have yellow flames like a 1950's hotrod.
