Because people love the big bores.

Is that a rebore or a new barrel? That is one sweet rifle. I wish Ruger would chamber a 500 cal in anything. I'd scoop it up in a heartbeat.
Currently have Enfield .375 H&H that I got on a trade from Riflechair a few years ago (Be listing in the trading forum soon...) and its replacement which is a nice .375 H&H Brno ZKK602.
I have a 44-40, with which I took a nice Whitetail doe this past fall, and a .45-60. The only thing I've taken with my .45-60 is a Groundhog. Overkill, I know, but I'm planning to take it deer hunting next fall.
Dez...like Toebako asked!! is that 500 jeffries a rebore or rebarrel? If rebored, who did the work? A project I have thought of in the past but can't find someone who will/ is capable to rebore the #1. barrel certainly has the meat for it.
Model 70 Pre 64 in 375 H&H - 1 griz
Sako 75 in 416 Rem Mag - very convincing on black bears and 1 gopher
CZ 550 Safari in 404 Jeff - 1 coyote (eeewwww)
1920 John Rigby & Sons double rifle in 470 Nitro Express - no kills yet
Model 94 Timber in 450 Marlin - no kills

No it's a new barrel got a mercury recoil reducer in the stock Helps a bit still kicks like wild beast the only thing besides gophers I have shot with it is a Muledeer . I managed to find a supply of 535gr woodleigh bullets and for gophers and plinking its a 550gr gas checked cast bullet loaded down a bit .
Thanks Dez...looks like the builder managed to use the ruger 1/4 rib and barrel bands etc. Would be nice if there was someone in the country capable of reboring these things to some of the bigger cals...
I have had a few rebarrelled and modified...far exceeds the cost of the rifle new!. Would be nice if we could just buy an action to start with...
