Of coarse. Do u honestly think they would produce a gun, that has the barrel bent off 3 degrees and consider that acceptable??? Pull ur head out of the sand, and unless u too received a bent t81, how bout u stfu on the subject.

Of course what? Are you saying The T81 was designed to employ a receiver mount? Do you have a pic of the factory issue receiver mount that the T81 was designed for?

It seems like such an odd choice for them to make for this rifle, but stranger things have happened.

sure it is set up for an optical sight "installation"

here it is:

I like the sling especially.

Tried out my Chi-Com Bullet Hose for the first time today. I fired a few rounds and it Seemed to be hitting low, but couldn't spot my shots perfectly. Just then a friend showed up at the range so he tried it and we confirmed it low. He adjusted up a bit and it was now on target at 100m.

He fired a few more rounds making good hits and just then another pal showed up do it was his turn. No problem hitting the gongs at 100m. Trigger is pretty good, action is smooth and function with the two supplied mags was good. We checked along the length of it for a banana shape and sure enough it may not pass a laser line test. :)

It is slight enough that I doubt someone would notice if not specifically looking for it though, especially if they hadn't read about it on CGN :)

I will take an AR15 over this rifle any day (even a Chinese AR15) but it is pretty much what I was expecting. As I've said before, the real attraction to this rifle for me is it's Cold War AK47 appearance, and it delivers that. Hopefully everyone gets theirs soon to get their commie gun fix for Christmas :)

Well said.
The cold war commie gun look is fantastic. This rifle is going to be a fun bullet hose.
I need to get shooting this thing asap.

Mine is scheduled for delivery tomorrow. By the current poll standings it looks to be about 40/60 chance for folding stocks to be defective/keepers. I will add my vote tomorrow.

Well boys, wish me luck. Looks like I am also due up for delivery tomorrow too.

I knew I was saving these sick days for a reason.

You still havent stated if your Type 81 arrived BENT like this yet ?

ITs got a stamped receiver like an AK, with all the real estate so why the hell not ! (ive already held the POSP and mount up to the receiver, it would all work if the damn gun was at least straighter than Adam Lambert). Somehow the Soviets managed to crank out AK's that were straight enough to implement a side mounts. They even managed to turn out straight guns when the Germans were knocking on Moscow's door.

But yet here you are, telling me, (the owner of a bent T81) that YES! the Chinese went through all the effort to supposedly engineer this gun to be SUPERIOR to the previous combloc counterparts. AND while doing so have a 3 degree tolerance in whether or not the barrel is true to the rest of the gun. ??!!^&*#% Yah no, im calling everything YOU SAY H:S: And im saying China fuked UP, and TI either bought the scraps and cheated us, or they too got played by the Chinese like the rest of us who own bent rifles and are missing mags.

Comradvlad:

While I do think yours is bent a little, your line is skewed. It's not centered on the takedown button, it's off to the right, and it's hits the left side of the rear sight notch. This is exaggerating how far out the barrel is.

I have other pictures ..... where I drew the line the other way, rear sight to front sight. Ive noticed even the front sight blade is 3/4s maxed out to the right..... everyone whos handled the rifle agrees.... its bent.

plus too the center punch hole in the takedown tab is FAR from center. so thats not a good reference point regardless.

have you made contact with TI? what are they saying?

My folder arrived at my brother's place today, everything appears to be straight, no major gaps in the the wood, no "hand fitted" dremel marks anywhere or particularly bad machining. 3 mags and an IOU instead of 5. It's looking good. :)

You take a pic from a VIDEO GAME that has a made up T81 "marksman" rifle, and feel that this is some sort of evidence that the T81 was designed to mount optics on the reciever? How old are you?

Laugh2 Laugh2

This is priceless.

ha:

You can read about my rifle in post 223 above. it's pretty much as I expected. I didn't take a pic and draw a line, I will leave that nonsense to you.

Norinco Type 81 (81-1)

Four models of the Norinco Type 81-1 appear in-game: a standard rifle with no attachments and default ironsights, an "Assault" model with a GP-25 Grenade Launcher and default ironsights, a "Marksman" model with a 4x scope, and a "Night Ops" model with a Thermal scope and an attached flashlight. It is often carried by PLA Vehicle Crewmen
