I have no idea, I would have figured they were bringing in a shipment not just a couple rifles. Weird, it hardly seems worth the trouble for 10 rifles.

So you did get your rifles now?
Keepers or sending back?
I'm curious to know why there is such a shortage of magazines, did TI oversell them or did they get shorted on the shipment? How many did you get compared to how many you ordered?

Recieved them and they look like shat, but will need some solid time to go over every single one of them other then quick glances

How many did you get?
Sounds like a few.

Look like shat? wood? finish? bent? rough machining?
You seem to be more experienced with this type of rifle than many others who ordered one, I've been looking forward to your review of them. Doesn't sound like it's going to be overly positive.

Yes had an order for about 6k worth of #### and can't say I'm over happy getting screwed out of mags to begin with.

I'll leave my honest judgement on these once I have had time to go thru all of em.

I already knew wood would be crude and bluing wouldn't be deep (I wanted these phosphatised to begin with as I knew what chinese bluing was all about) but that's not even the issues so far.

But I'll keep ya posted once I have a good look over em all

That’s not true I was part of the early pre order and received my pre order mag and sling. I am satisfied with my order and have come to realize the real gong show is played out right here on CGN.

Actually there is a ring of truth to it! I was probably one of the first to order (order 1799 who got me beat? anyone?) and I just got my rifles few days ago and only got 2 mags with it! No bonus mag and not the extra 2 mags I ordered. Yes I did get the IOU letter and will get another free mag for my troubles. Meanwhile guys who ordered 3,4,5 months ago have received all the mags they ordered (8,10, 15 maybe)! You can go back in the threads and see for yourself.

I don't get why they shipped the way they did but they seem to realise what they did and are trying to make up for it. In the end I will have 2 free mags, a free sling and a $50.00 store credit. So $137.00 total! seems like a OK attempt to say sorry to me. Not that I'm all that happy as I would rather have all the mags I ordered but at least I can shoot the rifle, maybe not in a match where you need more than 2 magazine's but I can shoot it. Hopefully it's not too long a wait for the rest of the mags to show up. I hope in numbers to as I would like 5 more.

Yes pls. Interested to see good close up pics of how it mounts, functions, etc. The ti photos aren't very good.

OK I'll give it a go. 4 small set screws hold the upper and lower together, loosen the screws and slide the uppers apart. The tabs on the upper will align with the slots in the lower and they will separate.

Undo the 4 Allen head screws in the side of the lower that hold the barrel clamp, remove clamp from lower guard, remove the 1 cap screw from the barrel clamp and it will hinge open.

Install the clamp around the barrel with the upright tabs forward (?looks to me anyway) install capscrew and snug it a little, slide lower on and install loosely 4 Allen head bolts in side of lower into the barrel clamp and install the large screw that came out of the wood lower hand guard rear bottom

Drop upper guard into slots on the lower and slide rearward, spring loaded pin should be towards the front and now in the gas adjuster detents, install the 4 setscrews upwards through the bottom handguard and snug them up.

Check everything looks/aligns good and you can tighten everything, the capscrew securing the barrel clamp can be accessed through the rail so it can be tightened with everything installed.

Seems the barrel clamp will work either way (after playing with it) but with the tabs to the front it looks like it would prevent the gas adjustment from over rotating.

I did the best I can with pics so I hope they are good enough.

I'm not sure why Caliber Mag didn't try it! I was disappointed that they didn't, seems like they should have. When the rail is installed and tightened down it seems very solid and seems to line up fine. Not sure how easy it would go on a slightly bent rifle though.

Hopefully your initial impressions aren't reliable and you end up with decent examples.

To be honest, these are not finely made works of art - but they are every bit as well made as the polytech AKs I used to play with in the early 1990's.

A stamped receiver mass produced gun will have some fit & finish compromises, but I was lucky to get one with a straight set of trunions and everything seems functional. I hope yours are similarly workable.

Received my folder a week ago, Missing 2 mags but got the letter. Receiver is straight, but like others folder is slightly twisted and the gas plug housing behind the front sight is also off. It is aligned inside so like others I am assuming this is just cosmetic.

All in all I'm pretty happy. I wanted a heavy, communist crafted piece of sheet metal and that's exactly what I got. I think if repro's were made here with more attention to details I would be less interested.
For me half the charm is its flaws.

However, I don't extend that sentiment to bent rifles or rifles that Ftf for whatever reason especially when they are new.
So I feel your pain to those who received a rifle(s) like that.

I also think first in should have been first out with mags etc. Kind of a big screw up on Ti's part.

Hmm... so can you remove the gas piston assembly for cleaning without removing several screws to remove the top of the rail system?

You would have to loosen the 4 small set screws and the upper guard can be slide forward and lifted up and off. There does seem to be some side to side play between the upper bad lower rail but there are notches in the upper that should help locate the upper rail to a position close to what it was when you retighten the set screws.

We shall see. Got some time off tomorrow night so I'll be going over them real good.

I'm all to fimilair with Chinese firearms (but bent or dented is in a different categorie then fit and finish)

Here are my three. Sorry for the terrible photos. Though photos don't show very well the laser is centered on front post, middle of rear sight, and centered on dust cover release tab. All three rifles are straight. No blemishes, no bolt butchery.

$hit man I know you made a huge order....i hope when you look over them more closely they turn out to be keepers.....the mag issue is insane....I'm short 14 mags myself

You know, these rifle have an illusion of being bent to the right. I'm not saying that some are not bent but when I received my rifles I was certain the folder had a bend.
After stripping it the bend looks straight, and it looks straight from upside down. I think the missing material for the bolt in the top cover adds to this.
I don't have a fancy laser. What kind of lasers are these?
