I was becoming weary of forgetting important info, such as what specific ammo, was zeroed for what specific range.
So on the way to target shooting, I stopped at a store & bought a hard cover & lined notebook. These for my more frequently used rifles at the outdoor range. Not just my rimfire Mauser either. Bought two more also, one for the Wichita target rifle, the third one for the Remington Varmint too.
I don't think I'll need this for the 10/22 or a big game rifle either. :p

Anyone else do likewise??

Nope. Never saw the need. Hmr is 100 yards, wmr is 100 yards both hit with whatever ammo I put in it pretty close to the same place. The stuff I load for 223 from 40gr to 60gr all hit less then an inch difference. The stuff I load for 30-06 is within an inch. Pretty easy to remember. 22's are either 50 yards zero with mini mags of an inch high at 50 with mini mags.

I like the thought having data recorded when I'm stretching the range of the 22 LR or my "long range" 308s, just for paper target shooting.
For example my scope for the 22 is maxed out at approximately 150, but with a compensated sight picture, I can put some match ammo dancing around the black at 200. This just for fun.

Yup...a 8541 Tactical Snipers Data book, which I find very helpful.
For the last two years I've been stretching the legs on my Savage .22WMR out to 300m.
With the data book I am able to go back and see what scope adjustments I needed for various wind conditions and am able to get on steel a lot quicker. At that distance even a 5kph wind variation will thow the round off a foot.
As well I am able to track just how many flyers I have from a cartridge brand and try and determine how consistent the brand is.
