I was out today shooting and saw an animal ...sadly I did not or could not shoot it.

I will not say if it was in season or out of season or if it is varmint... but here are the tracks left behind along with a picture of someone else who was watching,..

Timber Wolf?

f**k !!! Dead on!

I saw him right out in the open, black as tar and the only thing missing was Red Riding Hood...

I was on my way out to sight in my rifel, but it was not sighted in when I came accross him.

I watched him for about 15 seconds and he watched me and then moved off and then ran a little bit. The span between his tracks when he was running lined up were what I'd guess to be 6ft maybe 8 ft apart...

He looked good and healthy too...

Sure is a wuf! For high speed track id, Canids = oblong shape prints, felids = round shaped prints.

When I'm home this weekend I will dig out pics of some wolf tracks from when I worked in Idaho. They were big enough to give me the creeps!
We got them to howl with us a few times but I never got to lay eyes on the pack. Good on ya, sealhunter.
