I like to oil the bores...and I understand that the first few rounds will not be super accurate whilst they remove the oil ..... Hasn't given me any problems so far....
I finish cleaning with an oily patch, then a dry patch and leave like that. I live in near-desert conditions in southern Alberta and have never had an issue with doing it this way.
I spray the bore with a synthetic gun cleaner/lube and chase it with the blow gun then store the gun. The first few shots aren't accurate but I only oil the bore once a year after a good cleaning.
Aeroshell 17 or 33 are pretty close to Automatenfett. You should be able to get it from a Shell Bulk station.
I follow the instructions for the K31 and have had no problems. even use it for my other milsurps. You have to run a patch through to get it out before shooting though.
I learned from a really a***-retentive video. I use Ballistol and slosh it through the barrel (finger over the ends, so actually not that much oil) followed by a patch with Ballistol on it, then a dry patch. Brush if needed. Then 1 final patch with a little gun oil.
I'll see how that works when I finally get my ATT.
BTW, I did see a vido of somebody who just wipes his handguns down with babywipes after a visit to the range. Inside and out.
After cleaning, I run a wet patch of synthetic 2-stroke oil through the barrel. Why? Because I have a lot of it lying around where I clean things in the garage. I figured it will protect the barrel and burn off cleanly after the first few shots.
