Do you own a Cooper?

I think mine is on the next shipment as well. My first Custom Classic.

Ooo, now that's purdy! That's an exceptionally well finished rifle IMO...

I see no reason to take a nice rifle out and put it through the paces I would any of the other rifles. Once I buy a rifle I feel that it should be used as intended. My new TC deer rifle was out in the muck and snow this year and I'm pleased to be able to do that. A lot of us buy trucks that are worth 10 or 20 times the price of a good rifle, but still expect performance from them - why not a fancy smoke pole? Where did you get the lumber again?

I was curious about the comment that the Cooper's action is smoother than the Sakos. That's one thing that I immediately notice about premium rifles..

I didn't insinuate that a person should take out a fancy rifle and abuse it,I merely mentioned that a rifle that doesn't get used,is a waste regardless of how it looks.

I have one in 17Rem Fireball and love it. It's a Model 38 Classic and is a nice light well balanced carry rifle.

I have a Model 38 Classic in 20vt and like it a lot. I haven't quite been able to duplicate the test target, but have gotten close. The trigger breaks nicely and it's well balanced. One thing that I was surprised at was how little they bed the action - if I recall it was two little sections that were glass bedded, not the whole action (compared to my kimber which was completely bedded)

I have 2 Jackson game rifles a 25-06 & a 338-06 They shoot exceptionally well are finshed immaculately & are a pleasure to look at & shoot whats not to like I think they are alot nicer than the current sakos & clay is a great cat to deal with
Cheers Tony

I agree... there is nothing redeeming about the current Sakos.

I have One in 6x47 based on the 222rem Mag case exceptional accuracy the sako and kimber's are good quality the sako is over priced for a production firearm I do like the kimber select grade rifles and will likely own one soon.

You do realize that once you do that you will be ruined and doomed to never puchase anything but Coopers forever..
Just ask stubble jumper, he'll confirm what I know to be the truth

Not true,I actually purchased an Anschutz 22 Hornet, and a CZ 223 since owning Coopers. Then again,Cooper doesn't make a repeater that can handle the small cases.:D

And if Cooper made a micro action repeater you would have bought...

Likely just a 223 Cooper,I kind of always wanted to try an Anschutz 54,and the deal on the 22 Hornet was too sweet to pass up.I am just happy that Cooper came out with the Model 54 Varmint,as I wanted a 260,and I really had no idea what I was going to buy.I originally thought Sako, but the short magazine/long throat on my 223 Sako Varmint Laminate Stainless pretty much ruled out Sako.

Oh wait thats women that do that, nevermind

:D

On a slightly different topic,I have found that the best way to avoid conflicts with women when buying a new rifle,is to buy exactly the same gun case every time. They see you come and go with what looks like the same old case, and they have no idea if it is the same old rifle or another one.Of course,I am the only one with a key to the gun lock up,so she can't see all of those cases at once.
