Do you think this is shine or the blueing has rubbed off?

Mainly in areas above the trigger guard around the two frame screws, and possibly on top where the rear site is. I'm interested in it and will phone them later this week when I get my licence, but I'm impatient and am curious about others opinions for now. ;)

Looks like someone was over-zealous with the cleaning program to me. See what looks to be fine scratches in the "shine" ?

But I could be wrong.

Maybe a Saskgunnut can pop in and check for you.

100% not shine, it's bluing that's been removed.

Look at the pins... there is bluing still intact just around those area (because they are higher the "Cleaning" couldn't ruin the finish in those areas)

Looks like the bluing is gone to me, like joe-nwt said it looks like its scratched.

I musta got a great deal because I bought one just like that for my first handgun. It had perfect bluing and the extra cylinder but the box was missing.

All for only $200

I dunno... compare the bluing and light reflection on the cylinder vs. the "light" on the frame. totally different; if it was the light they'd look the same.

Maybe the seller has some non-scratched one for sale... but the one in the pic definitely looks like it has had its bluing taken off.

Also note that the right side appears fine under the same lighting.

I'll find out soon, I bought it. He said the bluing wasn't rubbed off, only on the edge of the barrel from holstering. I like that it has the wooden grips as opposed to the ugly black platic the blued models have now. I think the new ones also have an internal locking system of some sort.

Kerry is a super gunsmith, not a pro. photo. guy.
If he says it is glare- I WILL BE GLARE.

It came today. :) No bluing where at all, it was glare. Very good condition for a 23 year old gun.

:D

See this is why I keep harking on you guys to not use the on camera flash. If it were bluing rubbed off the top of the pins would also be bare. At least the pictures were in focus.

I see you put up a pic of your new single six in another thread how about a pic of the left side in this one. :)

I promise I'll get good pics of both sides to prove it looks fine. Right now I'm giving my rifle a once over before I go to the range for the first time tonight. :)

Here ya go. Looks almost new. :)
