Do you uses shotgun scope for waterfowls?

Father in law put an aimpoint (red dot) on his Vinci for clays as his eyesight is done as far as seeing a bead or even iron sights.
It immediately improve his scores, and he now shoots 2 inch groups off hand with slugs. Scope no, red dot yes.

Many of the better wing shooters don't even see the bead. His scores were likely low, because he was concentrating too hard on seeing the bead, and not concentrating enough on the target.

Nope was a consistent 80-90% guy. Eyes went south the red dot put him back in the game.

Exactly, as his eyes went South, he concentrated even more on trying to see the bead, and less on the target, and his shooting suffered, as a result. Lots of people never get past that 80-90% level, because they never get past watching the bead, instead of concentrating the target. On the other hand, many of the 95+% shooters could take the bead off of their gun, and it wouldn't effect them at all, because they don't concentrate on the bead.

When I shot ATA I was a consistent A - AA class shooter maintaining 96%-98% year in and year out and was a 25-27 yard shooter. To answer your comment, bead, what bead? There was a bead on my barrel??

You are absolutely correct, if you are looking at the bead or a sight you can kiss the target good bye. For that reason alone both my beads were ivory, never red, day glow orange, luminescent green? I wanted my vision completely focused on the target. If you're doing it right the gun is in your peripheral and you are seeing the spin on the target during flight!!!
