Given that the following guns were non-restricted, would you buy a plinker such as a GSG-5, S&W M&P .22, or Sig 522?

I'm not really sure that I understand the question... :confused: (sorry)

Of course people would buy them in droves if they were non-restricted, especially if they were in a reasonable price range... Just look at the popularity of the new Remington VTR and the Ruger SR-22. Dealers can't keep them on the shelves.

I'm not sure I understand where you are going with this question... The guns you mention are already being manufactured and no one has any control over how the RCMP classifies them. So please forgive me for being a bit thick, but what point are you trying to make? :)

You aren't being thick at all, please let me elaborate...

On an earlier discussion, I mentioned the lack of supply, and extensive demand of guns that fall under the category of tacticool high mag. 22 rifles.

On gentleman responded, essentially saying that most tacticool .22 gun manufacturers would disregard the Canadian market as being a worthwhile undertaking.

In response, i wanted to know how many would like a tacticool .22 with a high capacity non-banana mag at a price of within $600. The rifles i named fall under what i imagine the wish-list of most.

I'd buy the s&w today
and the sig tommorrow
or both the same day to help the environment by only making one trip.
I've got the sr22 and will probably buy the vtr
my 5 year old likes the sr22 and it fits her great once it got an adjustable stock
if manufacturers don't think they will sell, they don't know their market.
Most younger buyers don't want the ol wood stock like grandpa has
they want grandpa to wonder what the hell is that thing

I've heard the 522 is the most reliable .22 rifle to come to market (source nutnfancy shotshow 2010) id buy immediately if they were available in Canada, even if restricted. Although obviously i hope they are non-R !

I would love to own all of them, the second they are given a restricted title I am turned off. I just cant compel myself to only be able to shoot a gun at the range and have a sh*t load of stipulations especially on a .22.

I would defiantly have all of them if they were non-rest., in a heartbeat!! :D

My problem now is how do I justify the M&P15-22 when I already have a .22 conversion for my AR..... I'm not made of money, I usually have to justify my purchases (even if just to myself).
I have already almost talked myseflt into it, to be honest.....
"The 15-22 will be more accurate then my .22 AR conversion, as it is the 'correct twist' for .22lr".....
To which my wife will respond;
"When did you get an AR??"....
My response of course will be;
"D'ho!"

Cheers!

I've passed this HK'ish 10/22 stock design to several part manufacturers on here, only for the project to fall by the wayside each time. Trying to get a Canadian company to build a tacticool part is difficult enough, a complete firearms... good luck! Unless you want to get the CNC equipment yourself, I think you'll find that they are usually too busy working on their own projects to want to take on something else.

The grip, stock and rear sight were standard AR-15 parts.

They all look wicked, that GSG 5 is what really (might) turn my crank. I got the chance to fire a full-auto MP5 down in Nevada about 10 years ago, really fell in love with the look of those guns. A .22 semi-auto version isn't the same, but I'd probably buy one. Not sure an AR-sized .22 black rifle would be as nice, but that S&W is pretty sweet too.

I wonder if the used 10/22 market would open-up if these options became available!?!
