Does a G17 holster work for a G34

Anyone know if I can use a G17 holster for a G34?

sure, as long as the nose is open to let the longer slide stick out. the retention usually happens around the trigger. the extended controls should also clear.

Thanks! I have two will check to see if the nose is open on one of them. Still think I will have to get a new one for IDPA as I recall the rulebook stating no part of the gun is allowed to stick out of the bottom of the holster. I could be mistaken. Have to look it up. Pretty shamefull as I am an IDPA SO!

Unless I am missing something, I just checked the IDPA rulebook and couldn't find any issues with this.

Check the rule on the gun itself - ported or lightened slide, etc. As far as length past the holster I think as long as it can be concealed you're ok. You can always go for an IWB type anyways.
