Does a Ruger Sr40 mag work in an SR9??

..............removed.........

There's a user on here named "Dench"... quite similar but who the hell cares.

Not to be rude but if the most original user name you could come up with is "John in BC" than you might suffer some consequences as im sure there is more than just one John living in British Columbia.....

P. S. Apologies to the OP for hijacking a bit

first off i would like to say hi to all of the johns in bc here...if it matters i have an uncle john who lives in delta bc (maybe a new sub forum is in order here...admins??).

well after some googleing it seems that yes the mag will fit in the gun however the sr40 mag will not retain the 9mm ammo...again, thats what the internets told me.

link if anyone cares from someone who says they tried it...

ps. i would be flattered if anyone else wants to be P&S or name their first born after me...just sayin

so, I was "told" about this was I?

I don't think so.

I would have asked what to do about it immediately. I am an admin on another forum and understand this kind of thing. Also I am not a confrontationalist :bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug::bigHug: who would do it for fun.

If, by some chance the email or pm was lost in the ether, I apologise, but not once did I either intend to step on someones toes, nor did i know of such an occurance.

I,as well, have used this user name in several forums over the last few years. no not terribly original, but it worked well on international forums and Canada wide ones.

I will refrain from personal attacks and name calling however.

thanx for the info on the magazines.

So...will BC fit into B.C. or is it the other way around?
Hello John!
How You doing John?
Hey, have You heard two jokes about the use of the word "midget"?
Or about two midgets in one joke?

this kind of reminds me of this joke,
(This joke is best told with the relevant accents. The stronger the better.)

The Russians train a spy to plant in Wales. They teach him all the Welsh dialects and Tom Jones lyrics and everything. He's to be dropped in a remote village on the West coast. All he knows about his contact is that the man's name is Jones.

So the Russian sub comes in late one night; the spy rows ashore in a black dinghy and buries it, and starts walking the few miles to the village, where he knows he will find his contact. Shortly after dawn, he's approaching the village and he sees a man approaching, coming the other way.

"Good morning," says the Welshman, cheerily.

"Good morning," says the Russian. "Excuse me, but is your name Jones?"

"Jones, yes, that's me, I'm Jones. Can I help you at all?"

The Russian hesitates, then says, quietly, "The sky is red at sunset."

"Ah, yes, I see," says the Welshman. "No, it's Jones the Spy you're looking for. I'll take you to him."

I suggest a series of competitions to determine who gets to keep the name. Maybe John can demand satisfaction.

John in B.C.:

Your name is misleading. I know at least 4 Johns who live in B. C. I kindly suggest you contact your local authorities and change your legal name to Jabba the Hut. Because seriously, what if someone comes up to me and says "hi I'm John, I live in BC" How the hell an i supposed to know which one of you it is.

1. All non-relevant posts in this thread have been edited or removed.

2. There will be no more thread hi-jacking.

3. Please post only regarding the OP's original question & discussion surrounding that.

Thanks in advance.

I don't see why you couldn't use .40 mags stuffed with 9mm for a SR9,I use beretta 96 (.40 cal) mags with my beretta 92 with out any issue and have heard of people doing it with glocks, although with mixed results.

the feed lips on the Beretta mags are the same for both calibers as there is no need for them not to be as the rounds feed forward out of the mag on to the feed ramp and not streight up. YMMV.

could the lips be bent inwards? I have seen pictures of a glock mag(.40) that had the lips bent slightly in to hold the 9mm rounds in place. It fired 12 or 13.
