You may want to research the use of .38Spl and .357Mag with moonclips. When I looked around I found enough information suggesting that they aren't all that great that I dropped the idea.
The reasons are that first of all the longer casings allow the bullets to be enough out of alignment that they often don't simply drop in place. .357 is worse for this. Second is that there's no rim groove with the rimmed cases to lock into the moon clip and that further allows the rounds to move out of place.
So all in all I'm hoping to trip over a deal on a gun which uses the shorter semi auto rimless ammo. Either one which takes .45acp or 10mm/.40S&W. These cases snap into the moonclips more as intended and will be short and fat enough to fall into place when more or less thrown at the cylinder.
