I have an 1886, in 33 WCF, from 1907. Finding ammo will be your biggest obstacle. I have 2 boxes, one Winchester and one Remington, of old original ammo in excellent condition boxes that are worth too much to shoot.
If you can find it; Bertrum Brass is very good. (Australian made). I have some and loaded it up a few times. Brass can be made from 45-70 cases. Finding store bought jacketed bullets is another problem unless some outfit is again making them. If you're not content with downloading and using lead bullets, they can be made from 338 Winchester Mag. bullets. Make up a jig that will hold a number of bullets and file the ends flat.
I also have a 26" octagon barrel 1886, in 45-90, from 1889. It was my Great Grandad's gun that has been handed down the line.
