Does anybody make a 35 whelen.

Given your distrust for the chrony reliability there Douglas, how do we know yer not pull'in our leg?
Big bullets make tighter groups.
And those are great groups.

There is almost always a Whelen for sale on the EE in one form or another, I picked up a 700 Classic a few months back in pristine condition for an acceptable price. It shoots 225 ABs and 250 Parts amazing.

Grid on these targets are 1/2"

What's the .35 good for its effective range? Why would I want one school me I don't get it

"Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh my!" "Lions and Tigers and Bears, OH MY!" Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh, my .35 Whelen will handle them.

From what I understand, this is how the .35 Whelen came about and got its original popularity. A lot of americans were starting to want to go off to foreign lands on safari for big critters. They all knew that what they needed was a .375 H&H but they were hard to come by and expensive. There were lots of good bolt action 30/06 rifles available cheap and it was not to expensive to have one re-chambered to .35 whelen ( 35/06). Not exactly a .375 H&H but so close.

Now it is, like so many rounds, a novelty round that may not do something a couple other rounds don't do but it does its job quite well.

I might not have been so quick to thank you had I known the asking price is 3,799.00. I guess I just might have to save up for a little longer. :)

You can get coopers cheaper then that. The Jackson Hunter is $2000, Excaliber is $2200. He can order the whelen in, if not in stock.

I have a couple of the H&R Handi Whelen's... they are a very solid gun for the money. I restocked mine and developed loads... they shoot the H-SP 200's and H-SP-RP 250's very, very well.
