I am interested in military surplus oil bottles like the ones that came with the 91-30. Does anyone here collect them? I am looking for some information on them and where I might look for the unusual ones? square one and such? thanks in advance.
.
If you went by Makers, you could have a sizeable collection of SMLE and Lee Enfield oil bottles alone. This is a popular activity amongst some people on the Lee-Enfield Forums.
And there were different types for Rifles, Pistols, Sub-Machine guns, Carbines, and Machine Guns.
If you check E-Bay, you will find British, American, Swedish, Russian and a lot of other Countries produced oil bottles, and they are for sale.
.
I have a crap load of them. Some of them are quite hard to come by, you have to keep your eye out for them or you won't see them. I have some that pre-date WW1 and still have oil in them.
Myself i like the brass ones british and M1s mostly Marstar and Numrich have a few to choose from.Info wise the only info i ever found was on the Lee Enfield oilers.
