I went to a local gun show and after some looking around I stumbled upon a cavalry lengthed rifle (in pretty poor condition )that appeared to be a martini Henry and in my haste I only looked at the side to see if there was a crown or not (to see if was British or Nepalese) and I bought it once I saw the crown. I payed the gentleman who said it was a martini and that it's in no shape to shoot ( no problem ) but once I got home and looked at it under the light I noticed it didn't look right . There was no ENFIELD mark ,what was in the place of the ENFIELD was a series of English letter that seemed to make no sense not to mention they were upside down in relation to the crown and the date didn't make sense.
So my question is what are your thoughts: did the guy scam me by calling it a martini ,is it a kyber pass copy , is it worth anything ( out of embarrassment I don't want to say what I payed ) ?

Generally any thoughts?

It cost money to go to University if you think that you got it for a good price you might be ok but if you gave top dollar well ! Welcome to the club ! Its never no fun getting scammed . If you bought it as a wall hanger ,well now you got one with a story behind it . Value can vary greatly but may be a fun gun to research . Use it as a learning experience ,what to look for next time and what are the red flags . If you represent it as a pass gun you will get a lot more interest in it than just a beat up old relic .

You bought a Khyber pass special. Oh well, an interesting wall hanger. There is a place for one in every Martini collection. I bet it is one of the first ones that gets picked up and checked out when showing off your collection.

Don't worry if you paid too much unless you planned to flip it and make a profit. Live and learn.
It all evens out, you will find other gems that are bargains. Enjoy it for what it is. Neat find!

Pics?

Thanks guy ,I'm pretty new to Canadian gun nuts but I can tell it's a cool community filled with collective wisdom. My question now is since it's is very likely it's a kyber pass gun do I have to treat it like a non-restricted (safe storage laws and all that) seeing as it may be made past 1898 or can I just slap it on the wall? And for pictures I'll see what I can do later today
