I was given a 69/71 Vetterli and looking for other powders to use. I've got FFF black powder, and had good luck with 4227. I'm just looking for other options and more info, now that I'm getting better casting results.1000037736.jpg

I use 777 and 310 gr cast. I have used 2 F Goex with good results. Easy cartridge to load for once you have the brass. Can be made out of 348 Winchester or 8 m/m Lebel.
As its a powder I've never used, do you use it like standard Black Powder? I run a mild load of 35 gr FFF.
Thank you for the help, as this is my first foray into BP and casting. These are pure wheel weight lead and I dont want to send them real fast. The bullets are having a 10 grain variance (328 average,) no idea why as I cast them at the same time. Do you think the molds (brass) are shrinking/expanding when it heats up/cools down ?

My friend who gave it to me, told me his dad used it in the 60's I'm reloading so he can use it. So I'm loading about 50 rounds, when I finish off doing the case conversion on the bag of Starline brass. I'm rough cutting them, then milling them true and to length. But in the end It's a nice history piece, non original bolt, but every other number matches
