Does anyone know how to convert an Ishapore 2A 7.62 magazine into one that has a spent casing ejector on it? The mag is for my Lee-Enfield Envoy and I dont have an original mag for it. The original Envoy mags have the ejector on them not in the receiver. like the sterling mags. Is there any way to convert an Ishy mag to have the ejector? I am a welder.

Ejection on Lee rifles normally was by friction from the empty rubbing against the inside of the receiver rail. The ejector screw was just there to make sure. If you are not getting enough friction, it is possible to mod the extractor to push the empty farther to the left on extraction and thus provide the necessary friction.

You might check over on milsurps dot com; they have had a couple of threads on this exact problem.

Hope this helps.

If you can find an Enfield magazine to copy...you could weld a tab on to match. Or find a pic so you can see it.

Have you checked with Collectors Source to see if they still have reproduction Enfield magazines for sale? They should have the tab on them.

I used to have an Enfield conversion magazine, but it sat too low in my LB to feed rounds, so I swapped it for a Sterling 7.62 mag.
