Hey all , I obtained this rifle from an old fellow last summer and did some research but no luck ... does anyone know what it is, date of manufacture , value etc??

Markings not visible in pics: 22 long rifle, Deutsche Werke-Wer Erfurt, D.R.R germany, MOD I (under the crest on the reciever), then there are some hallmarks under the barrel. If more detailed pics are needed let me know :)

I think most of them were smooth bore. In Europe they used them for rodent control in the gardens. The one i recal was chamber for a 9mm bird shoot was an odd calibre. International firearms use to sell them but i don't remmber the calibre

Had one many years ago, cost me the tidy of $1.00 from a farmer. He said he didn't give stuff away, everything has a price. His price was ok by me. The little shi##er shot pretty good but hard to hold, short and light. Waved around like a leaf in a windstorm. When my eyes were young the sights worked alright, my first pellet gun had a bead type too. Can you say creepy trigger?

These were a very inexpensive German rifle from the post-WWI era. Not a Flobert - Floberts were very cheap Belgian rifles from the pre-WWI period.

When I was a young fellow in centeral AB. , nearly every farm had one. I have had a few over the years. All I have seen are .22 rim fire.A lot of people around with german ancestery may have some influence. We just called them the "little german rabbit gun".
