I used to have a Mark II some time back and I had bought a guard for the trigger assembly. All it consisted of was a piece of thin stainless about 4" long that slid down inside the cavity in the grip in front of the mag well and clipped in over top of the trigger assembly. I had a sort of gritty feel to the trigger from all the residue landing in there; I cleaned it and put that piece in and never had the problem again.
My probelm is that when I sold the gun, I decided not to keep it thinking I would get another one later if I bought another Riger. Well I just bought a Ruger Mark III Hunter and I cannot find them on the net to sav my soul. Does anyone know the piece I am talking about? If they do, could you give me a manufacturer name and/or where to find them (if they still make them)?
