I love how the old Enfield T sniper rifles had their transit boxes and would like to make something up similar for my cheap K98 knock off sniper rifle. Now I don't have the tools otherwise I'd just try making one myself. So I was wondering if someone makes reproductions of them.

I'd like to find one in plain wood and do it up as what a German might do :D

i`ll be making some up for my sks and a couple of enfields. was looking for a pic, thanks. i`ll be using recycled pine and am OD Green paint. i think lee valley MAY have appropriate hardware., if not, i`ll be stripping the hardware from russian ammo crates. not sure if i`m your guy or not, probably to far.

Hmm, I suppose that's an idea I can propose when I put in my membership at the hackerspace. They have a nice woodshop.

You're showing a CNo7 22 Enfield chest. Seen them used to store other rifles. You can buy one a lot cheaper than making on. Marstar has or had 3 on there website in varying condition priced at $100, 125 and 145 (?) plus tax plus delivery (pretty much what I have seen at gunshows although really nice ones go for more $'s. There was somebody making reproduction No4T chests. These are much deeper as they hold the scope and some other bits as well. Plans are on www.milsurps.com. Hope this helps. Ron

Go to top of page. It the icon just right of the GUNNUTZ. click on Marstar Canada red maple leaf and it will bring up their website. Ron

I just bought a used No. 7 transit chest from a fellow in Nova Scotia. I wish I'd seen the ones at Marstar first, might have saved some shipping cost.
If you want to build a chest, you can get hardware sets -- hinges, hasps, etc. -- at SARCO Inc. in the US for $50.00 US. Their website for these items is:
http://www.e-sarcoinc.com/no4mkihardwarecompsetfoitchestrenfsnipertrans.aspx
I've bought other stuff from them and they're reliable.

An old papy sold me all they have under is patio for a long time, 16 of them.
All # 7 transit chest Original. Still have their bloc inside to secure the rifle.
Some have little deformation due to humidity. Need repainting.
Worth like 60$ for me, if it's a deal for you let me know.
Now they are under my patio, with 3 feet of snow and ice blocking the way :(

Same price as Sarco, but all the wood is already done....and original :)

I'm in Montreal area if interested.

( if it's a sort of Hijacking, I'll remove my post and can place it in "milsurp accessories" )
