Does anyone offer rear bags built for F class?

So I'm in the process of getting my setup down, as I'm going to try to make a couple F class events this year. I've always shot off a harris 9-13 but will be buying a proper ski-pod, haven't made up my mind on which one quite yet. I've shot enough prone to know that I'm going to want a fairly tall setup which will have the bipod near 10", looks like there are a few on the market that go this high. What I don't see anywhere though are rear bags that will work. It seems like the standard is about 2.5" and a tall one is about 4" I'm thinking I need a 5.5 to 6" tall rear bag but where to get one? Anyone make custom bags? I know I cant be the only one looking for this as it seems much easier to stay in position if your skull isn't dragging on the ground...
 
puds in alberta (cannot remember what his business is called) has some protector grab handles bags,

but order a edgewood grab handle bag and get someone to make a riser (Lee on alberta outdoorsmanforum makes some and I have his e-mail I think)

then you are ready

Would the riser be a seperate piece, as in put the riser down then the bag on top? This is what I have been doing, with a 2x6 and a standard rear bag. I find stacking doesnt quite get the stability I'm looking for, the wood is terrible for this though.
 
The rear bag of choice for F-Class these days happens to be the Edgewood with the handle. Since I bought one the other bags get left home.
Fill it with heavy sand and not everyone needs a spacer. I don't use one as I don't want my head any higher. Mine sits very stable right on the ground.
 
Check out Jerry at Mystic Precision (site sponsor). He should be able to set you up with the Pod (MPod perhaps), and a bag. I recently ordered from him a protektor bag which I will be using for Precision shooting.
 
Price Enterprises (price-enterprises.ca) is planning on bringing in the Edgewood bags that as lejarrettnoir mentioned, are pretty much the gold standard in F-Class. Send them an email and they can let you know what the options are; I know that both gentlemen involved with this company both use Edgewood bags for their F-Class set-ups.

Personally I use a Protektor that I got from Jerry at Mystic, but it is not as high as what you are looking for.
 
Here is a thought - keep the bag as SHORT as possible and raise it on blocks.

If we could, we would make solid rear rests like a pedestal front rest. Tracking would improve - the whole reason bags are mandated by rules. One less part for a gear money pit.

As for bags, consider the buttstock profile and how you plan to adjust for slight elevation changes. If you are using a Harris (brave man), you have to be able to change you POA somehow. Most will move their rifle if using a sloping buttstock and/or change their rear bag shape.

If you are "bag squeezer", forget about the edgewoods. They are, by design, almost rock solid when filled. They are ideal for those looking to only adjust at the bipod or sliding the buttstock.

For bag squeezers, the protektor family is ideal.

Again, not a right or wrong but pick what fits your gear and style of shooting.

Yea, I forgot to mention I'm shooting F-Open so rear bag adjusting isn't done. Everything is adjusted at the front with a co-axial rest.
The Edgewood really is rock solid.
Some guys use platforms with Protektor bags and spikes so they stay put in the ground. Whatever works for you.
 
Thanks for the input guys. I ended up with a lightly used centershot bi-pod that I scored from a guy in Kamloops (thanks again Mark if you're on here). Still on the hunt for a rear bag, I'm thinking I'll get the tallest protector and go from there. I've only had the bipod a day and even though i know have precise elevation control I'm still driving by squeezing so I doubt I'd like the edgewood bag.
 
If you need to stick a riser under it, carpet tape works some good. I put a 2" block of hdpe under mine which made it about 6" tall and more comfortable.
 
the risers i use and sell are cut from high density rubber. i cut them to fit the bag dimmensions. i use an edgewood minigator with grab handle. because i have a little extra rise in the mid section, i use 3 spacers 1" thick under my bag to get comfortable. there is no movement between the risers or the bag.
i also cut a triangle to fit under front rests for shooting off the ground, so you don't need big washers under your legs on your rest.
i cut a grab handle into them as well.

just to clarify, jeff is referring to the spacers i cut and sell, not a rear bag. i recommend the edgewood brand of bags, they seem to work great.
i have mine filled with lane mtn #50 sand, super stiff and holds shape well.
now that i have the equipment, if i could talk jefferson into sitting on my shoulder like the little devil he is and calling the wind for me, i'd be set.
will be shooting in kamloops end of june if anyone is interested there in the spacers, custom shooting stools, or case annealers, lee
