Does anyone reload 9mm?

That's alot! Usually goes for 30/1k on the EE, although finding 10k in one deal isn't the easiest thing.
 
I reload my 9mm.

I'm using 124gr campros, 4.3gr HP38 on a lee loadmaster. Costs me about 16c/round to do. About half price compared to factory ammo.

I bought a pile of 9mm brass, cleaned, resized and deprimed from a CGNer last year for a great deal. Then I did my black badge course and took home all the brass since no one was reloading there. Needless to say, I too am well stocked :)

I've been on this path already; just starting with pistol now!

Been reloading for rifle - 308win, 30-06, 223 then decided to buy something wierd and got a 280AI and most recently a Shiloh Sharps in 45-70 which I've been learning about black powder reloading from some friends for. Soon will have the last bits of things I need to reload BP. That got me thinking about casting as I can't seem to find appropriate projectiles I've been told I want to shoot from the Sharps that friends have been kind enough to help me start off with.

So now I'm calling places to secure some wheel weights, scrouging at scrap yards to find a deal on scrap lead and so on.

It is a disease! When will it stop??

Brass = Free - $0.03 (I have about 2000 I've picked up so far and I've also bought a crap ton of 1F for about $.03 per piece)
Primer = $0.030 (Dominion)
Powder = $0.016 (4.0gr Titegroup)
Bullet = $0.08 (Campro CMJ RN)
Time = Free
(I love reloading and gets me away from the woman. I tell her the house will explode if she interrupts me in the middle of it)

Cost per round = 12.6 cents per round - 15.6 cents per round depending if i use range pickup or purchased brass
Cost ber box of 50 = $6.30 - $7.80

For consistent accurate 9mm that is on par with or outperforms factory, I'd rather reload.

I'm convinced!

Some background... I just recently made a deal with a friendly CGNer for a Dillon 550B press with a package that includes 45 ACP, 9mm and 223 dies and conv kits. Although I only had the intention to load 45ACP on the Dillon - it is the only center fire handgun I will have (I reload 223 for fine benchrest type rifle on a single stage), I figured I might as well get the other dies and conv kits as I expect I will pick up a 9mm (had my eyes on the CZ SP01 Shadow for plinking) some day. Besides, which reloader hasn't bought dies for a new caliber and then went looking for a gun to match he he..?

I expect I will be reloading 9mm because I find the act of reloading very therapeutic. I tell my wife and friends it is like yoga. I work in a mentally intense job and tend to do a lot of thinking on the job and and follows me wherever I go. Reloading is one of those few activities which because it requires a certain level of concentration, makes me take a break from my normal thinking.
 
On the flip side, I have evolved to reloading 9mmx19 for accuracy.
125g Hornady HAP projectiles are very impressive for accuracy.

Buying factory using those same projectiles is *much* more expensive and hard to come by too.

Been using Bullseye with 121 grain TC cast bullets for eons. 3.5 to 4.8. Never bothered to work up a seriously accurate load as my Inglis BHP isn't up to it. Crappy sights. However, the accuracy load is 3.5, according to my old Lyman book.
Anyway, reloading isn't about saving money. It's about using the best possible ammo for your firearms.
 
Hmmm. It's my understanding that while the Campros (which I use) are plated, the plating is so thick that it's effectively an FMJ (but of course not swaged). I use load data for FMJ RN and it's worked fine. I should do the calcs again, wonder how much I'm actually saving or if I'm fooling myself too - but I love spending an afternoon preppring and loading brass, I'm weird that way :)
 
I don't mean to jack this thread but if you buy brass do they need to be cleaned in an ultra sonic cleaner or is that just if your picking up your spent brass from the ground?

depending on how dirty the brass is, it may or may not need to be cleaned at all. how you clean the brass doesn't matter though but some methods clean better then others. stainless steel media for wet tumblers is the best for spotless shiny brass.

I'm just corroborating what everyone else has said...I reload 9mm (Zero 125gr JHPs) for about $7.50/50, about half of the current $16 retail price. I'm currently reloading on a Lee turret press, but I'm really considering moving to a progressive to increase output and cut down on time.
