Ok, i posted a similar question in the general section but didnt get a solid enough answer for my liking. I also tried emailing IWI but for some reason the email just get returned saying its restricted.

Yes i have read the sticky on this.

Is there someone out there that actually owns a TAR that knows for sure?

Heres the thing, on the stock its stamped .223 but in my little manual it says 5.56x45mm M193 or M855/SS109.

I was taught to always follow whats on the rifle so im hesitant to accept what the manual says and try chambering a 5.56. If i took the rifle appart would i find 5.56 on the barrel?

Your good to go with 5.56 ammo. All TAR21 Tavors are chambered for 5.56....

And yes, I own a couple of Tavors and all I feed them is high pressure 5.56

I own two Tavor's and the take 5.56 with pleasure.
It's a military rifle, and the Israelis make only one batch of barrels, not two.
They stamp them 223 to avoid export issues.
