Does Canada use the MG-3 Machine gun on the leopard?

No RPM is turned down.....a little bit to 1150 rpm +/-, which is still a ridiculous amount of lead to throw. Logistically and practically probably sound, but who woulnd't want the confidence and knowledge that your mg instills fear and terror just by the zipper sound of it throwing out nearly 1500+/- rounds a minute.

But the inflated confidence from the sound of your fear inspiring weapon!!!

Seroiusly, who would not feel at least some comfort behind one of those.

Entire battle plans were drawn around MG42's simply due to the sheer firepower they had.

Hey we all use m2 .50 cal still and thats an old design.

Those browning high powers stuck around for quite a while too, not to mention how long the 1911's stayed.

Does it have the same high cyclic rate as the MG42?

The MG 3 is a MG 42. MG 3 is just a slightly modified/modernized version.
You do get a bolt that is heavier than the MG 42's bolt which if I remember correctly will take it down to 800-900 RPM. You cant teach some one to drive if you start them out on a high performance sports car. You have to slow it down otherwise your waisting your time.

I met some young German army officers in Aachen fairly recently. We got talking about things including the MG-3, which is pretty wild when you think about it. It speaks volumes about the design of these WWII era machine guns. They were cool guys but I think what they really liked about me was the foxy Canadian grad students that were with us ;)

Canadians standing behind "Hitler's Buzzsaw". Wouldn't that make Taliban Jack froth at the mouth ;)

Are you for real? I think I would rather have the "inflated confidence" of hearing those rounds slam into my enemy than some pre-conceived notion that the sound of a weapon in itself instilled fear into my oponents.
