Does "hunting permitted" on crown land mean its OK to shoot targets on?

please clean up after yourself, where ever you shoot. tks
Good call! Probably wouldn't have thought about it until I got out there then would be wanting some convenient tarp/bin/bag for them. Staying in a single location and shooting should also make clean up a lot easier too.

Do your homework...out here, some parts of the Fraser Valley are hunting permitted, but "multiple projectile" so shotguns only (waterfowl huting). Target shooting with a rifle will probably get you charged...

I'm taking a hunting course as part of my CSFC, so I'm sure I can get some more info about that then.

Around me crown is used for everyone so people are walking their dogs so I would not be target shooting. Safer just to go to
range like silverdale in niagara.

Nova Scotia for example, apparently has some moronic rule that you cant discharge a firearm on Crown Land unless hunting.

I can't understand it, and have a hard time believing that's the case, but...

You can take a positive from this. If you were a hunter sitting in your blind would you want someone 100 yards away popping off rounds @ a target?

Would something like A 2010 Highlander with the 3.5 and AWD do? The other option is a 2011 Mazda 3. To be honest, would love to park at the parking lot, mountain bike in to get further than I would walking . . . if an SUV can handle it, the mountain bike ought to as well.

If I bring my own targets, would a PAL suffice? I don't intend on hunting anything, and would only fire on an animal in self defense. I've been going up to cottage country with bears in the vicinity for decades, as long as I make lots of noise (bell) that prevents the majority of any potential problems to begin with, and a few early shots should take care of that. But thank you very much for the suggestion. Just don't want to make it even look like I might be hunting . . . bell around the ankle, etc, because that way I shouldn't need a hunting license right?

yea a AWD Highlander and a mountain bike is an awesome way to have fun off-roaded, just bear in mind, if you are planing to go there on June, there will be sooooo many flies and non of the repellents would help. I always go there around sep/oct that almost of the bugs are gone, and snow yet don't come.
and also, why bothering driving up north so far to fire a couple rounds and prepare to convince a CO? when a approved range like Target Sport Canada just like 10mins from home that allows you to shoot guns legally and risk-free?
what I'm suggesting is that when you are carrying firearm there, it is the time you are seriously hunting. if just for target practising, I suggest you to go to your local ranges, as I say, they are risk-free and provides you better facilities.
