Does IPSC Rifle training exist?

I'd be interested in a Ottawa course. I'll also need cost estimate too. Can't afford to do everything that I want to
I will gladly confirm as soon as you have a date on anything reasonably close to the GTA. (a few hours)

Well I already have the rifle part figured out.
For a mag carrier I'll probably go with a FNC2 chest rig.
For optics I have a choice between a 2x red dot, or a 1.5 - 6x scope, but they are both cheap so I might go with just iron sights.
I think ipsc allows any type of optic, but do they have a rule that you have to stick with what you start with? So no changing optics during a competition?

You could mount multiple optics (a scope and a dot) but you have to finish thematch with what you start with (no swapping out)

Well,
We ran Course #1 at Grenville this weekend and I think it went off well. We fired about 220 rounds over the course of the day and got into deiscussions about equipment, optics, etc.
The focus of the course was on safe and efficient manipulation and handling of a semi-auto rifle from various positions, etc.
There were a ton of mag changes, tons of loads and unloads and a strong emphasis on getting good hits (obviously). I think the shooters had a good time and the feedback was very positive.
The majority of guns were AR's of various barrel lengths and configurations with one H&K SL-8! Everyone had RRA pistol mags but they weren't a necessity.
I figured out a couple of things that need to be tweaked on the lesson plan so our next course should be even better. (and I need a new optic!)!
Hopefully a couple of the participants will chime in!

I'll second that.
With my thick head...if I pick up one or two tricks...I consider it time well spent. So this was time...very well spent. Some of it was as basic to a proper grip (not just what feels comfortable) to more advanced skills like getting in and out of odd positions.
A very worth while course...I highly recommend it

I was there........had a blast. I was sorry when we were done, even though I was in some pain by the end. Definitely a great experience. I can't wait for something more advanced, or even more of the same. I enjoyed meeting everyone. Thanks E. Start planning the next one.

I was completely amazed at the professionalism, expertise and the friendliness of "Trit". While I have extensive prior training, in one short day my abilities with a rifle grew exponentially.
I had high expectations the course would improve my skills, but the course far exceeded those expectations.
