So is it just me or does reloading equipment seldom, if ever, go on sale?
I hate to mark myself as a tight wad but just about everything related to hunting and shooting seems to go on sale somewhere at sometime but I have yet to see a sale on press's and/or other reloading equipment or components for that matter.
Am I wrong here?
Cheers

Reloading items always sell like hot cakes. So you cant really make an end of season clearout because they cant even keep up with the demand. I don't think i've ever called up Baron or other places to have them tell me they had more than 1 or 2 of the items I needed in stock.

The RCBS rock chucker kit was on a crazy deal a while ago. Thats pretty much it.

If you want to save money look for used.

That stuff last forever anyways and most have a lifetime warranty

Ditto that! Prophet River had a kick arse deal with the Rockchucker kit and I'm kicking myself for not buying it then. Other than that, I haven't seen squat. Powder (if you can find the popular ones) are still scarce while primers are starting to become regularly stocked now such that nobody will have a sale ever on those. You can get lucky with some stores having a "No Tax" or 8% off days. If you're a LeBaron club member, you save 10% off on your purchases which helps.

Not often, but look at Cabela's site. Their Canadian site. Shipping from the States will hurt. You can bring reloading kit back with no fuss, but no components. You have to be Stateside as well. Le Barons maybe, but they'll be out of stock.
Look at gun shows and ask around at your club.

I watch the big stores, Lebarons, Cabelas, Wholesale etc but it had just struck me that you seldom see a sale for reloading equipment of any kind where you say "man what a deal! Even though I have two of those I have to buy another at that price." lol Like I'm sure we've all done with firearms, hunting boots, scopes, knives etc The other thing I noticed is that the smaller stores can normally beat the price of the big box stores if you shop around. An example is Goble's, They have a Hornady Lock'n Load kit on for $339.00 this weekend...a good deal but I really don't need a kit. Then again maybe I do....lol

Budget Shooter Supply has reloading supplies that randomly go on sale, you just need to watch the site often or send Henry an email and see when he feels like having a sale.

Prophet River had the rockchucker kit on sale for $300 earlier this year, and they had the chargemaster combo on for about $350 shortly after. I bought both and then got a $50 mail in rebate for each as well. Thats about the only time I've ever seen prices like that though.

Thanks for the tips. I also read on another thread about X-reloader. Sent them an email and from what I can see his number are very close to what you see in the US. Guess like anything one just has to shop around a little.

I was happy with my price on a press saved big

A friend of mine is big into reloading, he finds a lot of his stuff, especially dies, at gun shows. He always finding odd and obsolete dies that he needs at decent prices.
