Does reloading equipment fall under US export regulations

asked US costoms on bringing reloading components back to Canada and it was a big fat NO. No problem with Canada costoms but if the US customs checks you on the drive out your day will be totally ruined. In my opinion, its not worth the risk.

Shotgun shell wads are fine . I get them in the US all the time but that is about it. Cannot even take empty hulls over any more without paper work

Last year I ordered reloading equipment from Cabelas dot COM (mostly RCBS). It shipped from Canada. Saved about $100 on a $600 order.

Not sure where you got your info on RCBS but you should ask the people you deal with again. I buy all my rcbs gear state side a complete new set up last year over approx 1200.00 on three seperate orders plus a new charge master this year. Buy from mainly precision reloading or rob's shooting and also got the rcbs rebates.

Lots of retailers will ship RCBS equipment to Canada but RCBS themselves will not sell directly to Canada. If that's what the OP was saying then i think he is correct.

I ordered a Redding Big Boss from Mystic, and it's being held up at US customs right now. But I've brought back a bunch of dies and other tools from Washington state no problem when I went down to the Cabelas in Tulalip.

I'd give Mystic Precision a shot, their prices aren't that much higher than American prices after shipping and tax.

RCBS will ship to Canada , but not from their online store .
You have to call them directly and order .
I just ordered a sizing die and top punch from them for my Lube-A-Matic .

Here is what they said in an email I recieved from them Sept. 7/12 :

We can ship to Canada just give us a call at 1-800-533-5000 and let us know which ones you want

Thank you

I use Lyman H&I sizing dies in my lube a matic, they are interchangeable with RCBS and the lyman sizing dies seem to do a better job centering the bullet than the RCBS dies do, IMO. $24 each at Buffalo Arms, and $5 shipping.

I normally don't buy from them since they protect their distributors and are expensive however that being said on parts they ship to me direct and even don't charge sometimes for some items that have worn out or failed. Not 2 months ago got some small items for a press and came up free.
Maybe they know you:p

Wasn't talking about warranty and replacement parts - RCBS will not sell new equipment to Canada from their online store according to the message on the website. I guess they will if you telephone which meaans they are probably cheating on their distributorship agreements. :)
But why would anyone buy new equipment from them at those prices anyway?

I only buy parts direct since those prices are good and many times the item is no charge . All the other stuff lcomes through one of thier US distributors.
