I noticed at reliable gun vancouver I can purchase the 10/22 without a stock for $199 wich is $130 cheaper then a ruger. I was gonna take it out of the factory stock and put it in an archangel kit anyways so I was hoping someone was familiar or has done just that already on this forum. It says it fits "most" ruger after parts but I just want to b sure before purchase. Thanx

Just as long as you don't plan on putting an aftermarket barrel on it as they won't fit the Rock Island.

Also note that the screws that attach the scope rail to the receiver have a courser thread than those on a Ruger 10/22. If the top of the receiver cover on the aftermarket stock is attached to the receiver using these screw holes, you may have to get new screws to avoid stripping the screw holes. I found that the trigger housing on my RIA 10/22 was slightly wider than a Ruger 10/22 and it was necessary to relieve the inletting on the underside of Ruger stocks to get them to fit.

My RIA would not fit the ATI 8-sided stock without permanent modifications. The iron sights are in a slightly different position and the back one has to be removed to fit. So I bought the cheaper ruger model and sold the RIA.
I never tried the gsg that I can recall but it fits the Butler Creek mags, so I'm not sure how it would be different.

I can't test the theory as I won't be back at the range with my buddy till spring (I sold the RIA to him).

The receiver is slightly taller on the top of the RIA, we just file a bit of the top of any of the kits that use a top receiver cover, about 1mm & they fit fine!
