Does the browning BPS hunter accept cantilever deer barrel ?

Hi there,

Anyone has tried putting a cantilever barrel on their browning BPS hunter 12ga 3" shotgun ?

Reason I'm asking is there is the vent rib end which protrudes at the receiver. The cantilever barrel does not seem to have that much clearing space between the receiver and the scope rail.

Also, I notice there are some stock dimensions differences between the 2 models. Anyone has any experience regarding this ?

Yes the barrel will fit as long as your gun has a 3" chamber. The mount extension is milled to allow for the rib abutment. I have seen several standard BPS models sold as sets with the cantilever barrel. NOTE: Your gun will have lower comb height and this may interfere with your ability to acquire a sight picture quickly through the scope.
