Does the Marlin model 70 have bigger magazines than 7 shots?

I recently acquired a marlin Model 70 semi-auto (looks pretty much just like a 10/22 to me) and I am just wondering if there was ever a magazine made for these that holds more than 7 rounds. Its kind of annoying to shoot a semi-auto that only has 7. You just start pulling the trigger and you are reloading. Is there, or was there ever a magazine made similar to the ones for the 10/22 hot lips types?? such as a 10,15,25, or 30 round example??? Anything that has a higher capacity than 7 rounds. This rifle shoots excellently, and I assume the micro-groove rifling has something to do with that. Just curious, and if there is, does anyone know where to get them.

10 round should be easy to find...they've made bigger ones in the past (15) but I don't think they are in production right now.

Gun show and online search might find some...

You can still find 15 round steel mags for the Marlin 70 made by National Magazine for about $20.00 US. I'm not sure where to point you for a Canadian retailer though.

I had a model 70 and hate to tell that the 7 rnd is the one to get.The 10 rnd magazines will fit but not as well as the 7 rnd. There has been lots of talk about the lack of availability of higher capacity magazines. The 10 rnd magazine isn't designed for your gun and there have lots of complaints about using it on the 70.Marlin's website only list the 7 rnd as compatible for your 70.There are still a few plastic 15 rnd magazines around but are hard to find in Canada. They aren't as good or as durable as the old 7 rnd. ones.Mount a red dot on it for lots of plinking fun.

They are amazing guns. I tried getting the larger magazines but stuck with the 7's. Just get a couple of them. I just picked a new one up from Cabelas a month or so ago. Works like a charm with no break in time.

I've got a 1967 Marlin 989M2 with the clip style magazine, and I agree that it is a bi*#h to find >7 shot mag. I found a website http://www.e-gunparts.com/DisplayAd.asp?chrProductSKU=929970A&chrSuperSKU=929970&MC=
that sells a 15 rd clip and will ship to Canada, but it's $50 by the time it'll get here. I just ordered th 10 shot nickel plated job that LeBaron's sells in their online catalog, it works just as well as the 7 shot clips I have. Hope this helps

Is anybody familiar with Canadian Customs regulations regarding importation of magazines? I know they allow tactical stocks (tapco for sks, or ruger 10/22 folders) and red dot sights because i have personally done those and/or know someone who have done the same.

If magazines are allowed, but the stores like Midway, etc, do not wish to bother, then I have a shipping address in the U.S. from which it is easy to bring them in when I go to Seattle.

I need a couple of 15 rounders for my Marlin Glenfield 70 as well so would really want to go this route if legally possible. And if any of you want to ride on to my order, no problemo. I'll ship to you when mags are in Canada. Again, if legally able to bring them in.
