That mask reminds me of a modern version of the old USAF/USN MCU-2/P mask. I have an Avon FM12 for any nasty stuff with some 3M FR-64 canisters.

I bought a SKS crate a couple years ago.

It was too stinky to have it in the house. Smell cosmoline and humidity.
I salvaged the metal parts from the crate and sent the wood to the junkyard.

I made another one out of cedar and pine wood with the same dimensions as the SKS crate.

Now it looks 100X better and it smells good too !

I don't think its asbestos but I wouldn't put that in my mouth !
